Building Code

The Town of Mason Building Code was enacted by the voters of the Town of Mason in 1957. The Town of Mason Planning Ordinance was enacted by the voters of the Town of Mason in 1967 and the Building Code has since been updated and expanded according to the International Building Code (IBC) and the National Fire Protection Association.

If you do not know whether a building permit is required, refer to the Town of Mason Planning Ordinance, Article VII. (The Ordinance is also available for $10.00 at the Selectmen’s Office.) For specific questions, contact the Building Inspector.
