Mason Fire Department Receives Grant for Command Vehicle

The Town of Mason was notified they have received GOFERR funds for a new command/ quick response vehicle. The grant award is for $50,000 with a 10% ($5,000) funds requirement. We are pleased to report that the matching funds for the grant were taken from the vehicle capital expenditure account and does not increase the budget.

Chief Burns stated “We are very excited to be awarded this grant I applaud the Board of Selectmen, the team who worked to put this information together to get it submitted. This vehicle will be a vital tool moving forward to assist in medical first response as well as to running command effectively and safely.”

This is part of the master plan of the fire department to update equipment to increase safety, reduce costs for maintenance, and increase our abilities to provide a higher level of service to the Town of Mason residents while being fiscally responsible for the town’s funds. If there are any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me at 603-487-7062 or 603-878-2208.

Thank you,
Anthony T. Burns
