Mason Fire Chief Anthony T. Burns is stepping down as fire chief and will no longer be employed by the Town of Mason as of June 1, 2024. The Board of Selectmen thanks Chief Burns for his service to the town, and we wish him well in his future endeavors. Deputy Chief Eric Rantamaki will be assuming a temporary leadership role following Chief Burn’s departure. Police Chief Kevin Maxwell will act as our temporary Emergency Management Director. The Selectmen are forming an advisory committee with representatives from the fire department, emergency medical responders, selectmen, and members of the public, tasked with providing the Selectmen and the Town with recommendations to improve public confidence in the fire department and increase the retention rate of our volunteer firefighters and EMTs.
