~ Mason Fire Department Has New Certified Firefighter and A New Fire Instructor Level II

Mason, New Hampshire, September 15, 2023 —

Mason Fire & EMS would like to congratulate Firefighter/EMR Katie Boots for her successful completion of the Firefighter I/II course and Captain Jeffrey Partridge successfully completed Fire & EMS Instructor II provided by the New Hampshire Fire Standards and Training and EMS (NHFSTEMS).

Firefighter/ EMR Boots course was 2 nights a week and several Saturdays for a period of 4 months of intense education, hands on skills, and live fire experiences. The course totaled 266 hours of time in the class and additional hours outside the class to be successful.  

Captain Partridge’s program was an intensive month long offering that was 2 nights a week in an online atmosphere. The program was focused on developing lesson plans and how to effectively supervises Fire & EMS Instructor I’s Chief Burns stated with the addition of Captain Partridge at the Instructor II level it will give the Mason Fire-EMS Department another tool to expand our in-house training programs for Fire and EMS personnel.

With the addition of Firefighter/ EMR Boots, and Cpt Partridge’s expanded training, it will enhance the capabilities of the department to handle emergencies and serve the public. Chief Burns stated that he could not be prouder of Firefighter/EMR Boots and Captain Partridge as this was a very large undertaking for someone who has a full-time job in addition to all the class work. Firefighter/EMR Boots and Captain Partridge are exactly the kind of people we need at the Mason Fire-EMS department, dedicated, driven, and follows through.
