It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Police Chief Kevin Maxwell, who faithfully served the Town of Mason as our police chief for the past 11 years.

Chief Maxwell led with compassion and an unwavering commitment to excellence. He was deeply passionate about education and training within the department, always striving to ensure that those he led were prepared, supported, and empowered to serve the community with professionalism and care. His kindness toward residents was evident in every interaction, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives. 

Above all, Chief Maxwell was devoted to his faith and family.  His legacy of service, leadership, and humanity will not be forgotten. He will be greatly missed by the department, the Town, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.  Sgt Richard Fortin will continue to serve as acting police chief for the Mason Police Department.
